Westside Students Make Earlywine STEAM Night a Success

Earlywine STEAM Night - students high five
Rusty Anderson

Earlywine students were fortunate to have members from the WHS wrestling team, Key Club, Leadership, Astronomy Club, and Brink STUCO come out to support their STEAM Night last week. It was especially heartwarming to see some former Dolphins among the secondary students who volunteered.

Initially, Principal Cindy Sandoval was concerned about the availability of student volunteers due to the NHS induction occurring on the same evening and didn't want to burden their dedicated PTA with running the stations and games.

After asking for help, Sandoval expressed how impressed she by the swift response from so many coaches and sponsors! WHS and BJH students not only supervised but actively engaged with Earlywine students and families by playing games, demonstrating science experiments, making slime, and creating imaginative projects. The parents and grandparents in attendance had nothing but praise for their efforts.

It was important to me to ensure our families had the opportunity to spend quality time together. - Principal Sandoval

Our Westmoore and Brink students went above and beyond, and they are excited to continue this partnership in the future. Mr. Bradbury and Mrs. Davis are already planning a "Night-Time Observation" event with the Astronomy Club and Earlywine students. It is inspiring to see our secondary students taking the initiative and leading the way for our elementary students.
